Our Pick of the Top Asus Gaming Laptops of The Year

If you’re looking for a new laptop for gaming, you are going to be looking for something a bit different to the mainstream. The specifications of a normal laptop just won’t cut it here and you’ll be looking for something very high spec with great features.

At Laptop Den we understand how important getting the right laptop is for you, there are so many things to look out for when trying to find the best laptop that will be able to do your games justice.

What to look for when buying a new gaming laptop?

  • SSD vs HDD: Even if you’re shopping for a standard laptop, it’s best to go with an SSD hard drive, however this is critical when looking for a gaming laptop. Solid state drives deliver faster load times for games, applications, and movies. Because of the technology they use, SSDs are lighter and more able to withstand being moved and dropped. In addition, solid state drives use less energy, keeping the computer that they’re used in cooler, perfect for those long gaming sessions.
  • Screen size: For gaming at home you may find that bigger is definitely better. A large screen such as 17-18in is perfect for this, laptops of this size tend to be the most powerful, however they are also the least portable, making it hard to do gaming on the go. As you move down the sizes you will increase portability and battery life but you will lose some of the power that comes with the larger laptops.
  • Graphics Card: For most purposes an integrated graphics card will do the job just fine, but not when you’re looking for a gaming laptop. Gaming places far higher demands on the graphics card, and an integrated system just won’t cut it so unless you’re only playing low end titles such as World of Warcraft then you really need to look for a system with a dedicated graphics card.
  • Display: There’s no point in ensuring that you have the best graphics card possible if the display on the laptop isn’t any good. As a minimum you need to look for a 1920×1080 display,
  • RAM: For a gaming laptop you should be looking at at least 8GB of RAM, if you can stretch to 16GB then even better.
